The Department of Economics at Christopher Newport University invites applications for the position of Lecturer in Economics, effective August 18, 2014. This position is a full-time, non-tenure-track appointment with a nominal teaching load of 4-4. The ideal candidate will have a doctoral degree in Economics, excellent teaching skills, and the ability to contribute to the intellectual life of CNU by engaging students inside and outside the classroom. Preference will be given to candidates with fields and research in macroeconomics. Teaching responsibilities may include: principles of economics, intermediate macro-economics, upper-level electives in the candidate's field, and courses in the University's liberal learning curriculum. A hired candidate with a Ph.D. in Economics can anticipate an initial appointment of Lecturer. Individuals who are ABD and/or possess a master's degree in a related field may, at the discretion of the University, be considered for appointment at the rank of Instructor.
