The Analytics and Services Research Branch (ASRB) within the Center for Behavioral Health Statistics and Quality (CBHSQ), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) anticipates openings for two or three health economists as non-career, service fellows within CBHSQ. Duties include conducting research and evaluation studies on behavioral health care financing and health insurance coverage, especially in the context of health care reform; and exploring areas for research on the costs and expenditures for treatment and prevention of mental and substance use disorders. Qualified applicants will have a strong background in applied microeconomics and possess strong analytical and empirical skills, as well as proficiency in oral and written communication. Knowledge of behavioral health and interest in applied health policy issues are essential. U.S. citizenship is required. SAMHSA is an equal opportunity employer.
