IFPRI seeks a Research Fellow for a two-year, fixed term, renewable appointment for its Markets, Trade and Institutions Division. This position is based in Washington, DC.
Duties:
-- Lead a team of Postdoctoral Fellows and conduct research on issues related to applied microeconomics in developing countries.
-- Work on empirical micro econometric modeling (parametric and non-parametric), panel data analysis, impact evaluation and household and intra household analysis.
-- Research and test ways in which applied mechanism design can help to promote factor markets development in developing countries, through the use of experimental economics methods.
Qualifications:
-- Ph.D. in Economics or closely related field with a minimum of 3 years of post PhD relevant work experience
-- Excellent publication record
-- Significant applied econometric skills,
-- Experience in state of the art impact evaluation methods, strong capabilities in quantitative analysis and ability to use economic theory in innovative and policy relevant ways,
-- Experience in collecting and analyzing primary survey data,
-- Strong communication skills in written & spoken English
-- Ability to travel.
