At Acumen, LLC / The SPHERE Institute, the Senior Policy Analyst will perform a wide array of functions such as conducting econometric and statistical analyses, interpreting study specifications, research findings, and quantitative analyses for relevant audiences, coordinating project activities and communications among diverse groups of internal and external clients and team members, delivering technical assistance and presenting findings to clients. Responsibilities also include drafting project reports, memos, presentations, and proposals, interacting with clients to access data/program information and determining analytical strategy, organizing resources to implement processes to achieve positive outcomes. Lastly, the Senior Policy Associate will train employees on skills, concepts, and competencies of increasing complexity, ensure work is consistent with established methods, best practices, and policy trends, assist with minimizing risk by foreseeing and addressing obstacles proactively and aggressively, and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required:
-- 3 years of relevant work experience (in addition to experience in lieu of degree)
-- Excellent quantitative analytical skills
-- Excellent oral and written communication skills
-- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
-- Adept at one or more of the following technical competencies: statistics, programming, policy writing, research methods documentation, or project management
-- Skilled in demonstrating initiative, critical thinking, and problem-solving
-- Skilled in demonstrating strategic and big-picture thinking
-- Experienced in working in a team-oriented environment
-- Skilled in prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
-- Experienced in identifying the relationships among projects or tasks
-- Experienced in leveraging efficiencies among projects or tasks
-- Experienced in at least one relevant policy area
-- Demonstrated aptitude and enthusiasm for learning
-- Demonstrated interest in health and social policy
