The advertising and data group is seeking to hire a research economist, econometrician, or quantitative marketer at all levels.
Yahoo economists bring rigor to the world of big data. Working with a rich data set from hundreds of millions of consumers, Yahoo econometricians are chartering new frontiers; from field experiments on millions of consumers to natural experiments with hundreds of millions of consumers.
Yahoo econometricians are continually expanding the state of the art in applied econometrics, quantitative marketing and big-data. Yahoo economists apply the frontier of economic thinking to market design, pricing, forecasting, online advertising and other areas.
Job duties will include:
--Conducting research and providing thought leadership for quantitative marketing, marketing models, econometrics, and consumer behavior.
--Building econometric models, using world class data systems, and applying economic theory to solve business complex business problems.
--Designing and conducting experiments to test and validate econometric models.
The ideal candidate will have:
--Ph.D. in, economics (empirical industrial organization, applied econometrics, econometrics, labor economics) quantitative marketing, or a related field.
--Experience in empirical practice.
--Programming experience in low-level languages and/or scripting languages (optional)
--Programming experience in statistical or matrix programming packages.
--Strong desire and interest to tackle big data problems.
