The Department of Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics (AEDE) at Ohio State University seeks an emerging scholar for appointment as the Farm Income Enhancement Chair and Director of the Center for Cooperative, Business and Community Education and Development. The successful candidate will:
--Continue the tradition of the Farm Income Enhancement Program by conducting effectual research on issues and problems relating to sustainability of food, agricultural and environmental systems, as they relate to production, marketing, distribution and policy
--Serve as founding Director of the Center for Cooperative, Business and Community Education and Development. Duties include:
-providing visionary leadership for this newly funded center
-establishing ties with local, national and international community of cooperative enterprises
--Make available to agribusiness, agricultural, cooperative and small business leaders, policymakers and the general public the results of research
--Teach appropriate courses in AEDE's undergraduate and graduate programs.
The appointee will provide innovative intellectual leadership in the Department, College, and University, and will be active in enhancing relationships with other departments and colleges at Ohio State and with stakeholders and relevant public agencies. Enthusiasm in pursuing collaborative projects is expected.
This premier position offers an attractive salary and benefits package, and funding for program support from the Farm Income Enhancement Endowment and related endowment funds. The appointee will have an academic year (9 month) appointment, and will be expected to participate in research, teaching, and outreach activities with the exact combination of duties and program support to be negotiated between the appointee and the Department.
