We are currently seeking Research Directors for our Strategy and Innovation, FS, and Sales and Marketing practices. Research Directors lead the research product teams that make up CEB’s growing strategic insight practice. It is a prime leadership opportunity for individuals who want to lead teams and are driven by a passion for research. Individuals who possess an “intellectual curiosity†and enjoy solving problems, while embracing the opportunity to manage a team, develop people and manage projects, are most successful in this role.
The Research Director will have product and staff oversight for their program.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage research teams to conduct primary research to understand the challenges facing senior executives and deliver practices, tools, and insight to help them more efficiently execute their jobs.
• Dissect problems using qualitative and quantitative research and analysis skills, inductive and deductive reasoning, abstract thinking and root-cause analysis.
• Identify the most successful and innovative solutions to challenges by building relationships with senior executives through day to day phone and in person interviews.
• Distill insights into high-level, strategic recommendations for the entire memberships of executives.
• Produce actionable practice profiles, tools, and reports to assist member organizations.
• Provides both upward and downward feedback to senior management and staff.
• Conduct business and product line management.
• Support revenue generating activities and advise clients on marketing challenges.
• Responsibility for both interviewing and staffing.
• Suggest and analyze new program initiatives.
• Significant role in insight generation, hypothesis generation.
• Contribute to program agenda and diagnostic survey design.
• Write studies including: essays, conclusion, executive summaries and speeches.
Role Qualifications:
Analytic & Research Skills:
• Superior problem solving ability.
• Ability to analyze quantitative and/or qualitative data.
• Ability to locate and procure sensitive data from original sources and senior executives.
• Ability to graphically depict key insights.
Management Skills:
• Superior project management skills.
• Demonstrated poise and grace under pressure.
• Demonstrated initiative and resourcefulness.
• Superior judgment.
• Demonstrated leadership ability.
• Demonstrated coaching and other people management skills
Education/Experience Requirements:
• Undergraduate degree required, advanced degree strongly preferred.
• 6+ years of professional work experience, ideally in a research driven or management consultant environment.
