The Senior Director of Research Methods at Innovations for Poverty Action presents an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for applied research in developing countries and with a drive to lead methods for implementing high-quality research.
Responsibilities
--Direct, mentor and guide IPA's global research corps to ensure proper training and compliance with research standards and protocols
--Lead the formulation and ensure the successful implementation of company policies and procedures for research management that meet the objectives of IPA and develop strategic operating plans that reflect the longer-term objectives and priorities established by the Senior Management Team
--Lead in directing and executing the strategies towards high-quality management of research, data collection, analysis and data publication
--Initiate and lead original research projects
Qualifications
--PhD in a relevant subject area, such as economics, statistics, public policy, development, etc. Masters in relevant area plus extensive applied research experience will be considered
--Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative data collection, measurement and instrument development, and a passion for learning best practices and innovations is necessary
--Familiarity with research design and particularly the design of randomized evaluations (including related proposal writing and/or proposal review)
