RAND's Economics, Sociology, and Statistics Department has multiple openings for applied economists across all experience levels. RAND economists develop policy-relevant research agendas within or across education, labor, defense, public, and health economics. RAND is additionally interested in candidates with expertise in Chinese economic and trade policy, as well as supply chain economics. Applicants must have a PhD by September 2025, demonstrated research skills, a strong interest in policy-relevant empirical analysis, and excellent written and oral communication skills. Senior candidates should be able to provide evidence of the fundability of their portfolio. RAND offers a flexible working environment, with offices in: Santa Monica, CA; Arlington, VA; Pittsburgh, PA; Boston, MA.

Full Researcher $144,200 - $247,000
