Full Text of JOE Listing:
The Stanford Environmental and Energy Policy Analysis Center (SEEPAC) is seeking Post-Doctoral Scholars for a one-year position starting this coming summer. Applicants should be graduating this year with a PhD in economics, energy systems, operations research, or a closely related area, with primary fields including IO, public, urban, and/or environmental economics. We primarily consider applicants who are simultaneously searching for a full-time faculty job this cycle and would defer that job for one year, although we can also consider alternative arrangements.
SEEPAC post-docs split time between their own research and developing joint projects with SEEPAC director Hunt Allcott. There is no teaching.
Possible joint projects might include:
randomized experiments on energy efficiency and electricity pricing;
work on electricity market design, including work with transmission, dispatch, and capacity expansion models;
studies of electric vehicle markets; and
studies of the “abundance” policy agenda, such as evaluating the benefits of reducing restrictions on building.
Stanford University is an equal-opportunity employer. We warmly encourage applications from people who can strengthen our diversity in any way. The salary is competitive.
For full consideration, submit all materials by December 23rd.
