The Department of Economics & Finance in the School of Business and Entrepreneurship at North Central College invites applications for a tenure-track position in Finance to begin August 1, 2026.
The duties in this role include:
• Provide instruction for both basic and upper-level courses in finance, including derivatives and financial institutions, as well as MBA or basic economics courses, if needed.
• Develop curricula for new finance elective courses in the candidate’s research field.
• Mentor undergraduate students and engage students in research, if possible.
• Pursue research activities in finance, including writing, dissemination, and presentation of research at national conferences.
Basic Qualifications:
• The successful candidate will have a terminal degree (Ph.D. or DBA) in Finance or Financial Economics. Candidates who are ABD and will complete their degree before the start date will also receive full consideration.
• Applicants must demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring of students, and ongoing scholarship that can be published in high quality journals.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
• Progress toward (or completion of) CFA.
• Ability to teach AI, machine learning, and/or fintech.
• Experience working with diverse student populations and communities.
