The Department of Economics and College of Agriculture and Life Sciences seek to hire a non-tenure-track Adjunct Assistant Professor in Agricultural Economics with interests in the economics of energy and/or water. The approximate responsibility division is 15% research, 25% teaching, 55% extension and outreach, and 5% institutional service. The appointment term is three years, renewable upon satisfactory performance.

The individual in this position will develop nationally recognized research and outreach programs in the economics surrounding the nexus of agriculture, energy, and water. The research and outreach program will be expected to address critical agricultural, energy, and water issues relevant to Iowa and beyond. The individual will maintain active projects under the auspices of the Iowa Agriculture and Home Economics Experiment Station.

The successful candidate will collaborate across departments, extension units, and university centers. The research and teaching activities are envisioned to be synergistic with outreach activities, leading to outreach materials targeting producers, agribusiness professionals, and other groups; original research in agricultural economics leading to publications in appropriate refereed journals; and presentations at conferences. The successful candidate will be expected to generate extramural funds to support outreach and research activities. Candidates may serve on graduate academic plan committees.
