Jinhe Center for Economic Research (JCER) at Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) in China was established in 1997 collaborating with two distinguished economists Yusen Kwoh (MA, University of Chicago, 1978) and Chuntien Hu (PhD, Princeton University, 1986) and a group of renowned economics professors from global institutions.

We provide comprehensive training in economics at the BA, MA, and PhD levels through a modern curriculum that aligns with leading economics programs worldwide. Our faculty includes members who hold PhDs in economics from prestigious institutions across China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Australia, and the Netherlands, in addition to over 30 visiting professors from abroad.

We believe economics is not only a foundational discipline for the social sciences, but also one of the most practical fields for policy-making and industry—especially in light of the rapid development of digital economics and AI technology. China is currently at a critical stage of sustainable development and ambitious reform, with a large pool of talented students eager to study economics. This makes China an ideal environment for advancing both economic theory and real-world applications.

We are actively seeking senior professors who can help shape and lead the academic and strategic direction of JCER during this period of expansion.

XJTU is planning rapid growth in both its graduate and undergraduate programs in the near future. To support this expansion, we will be recruiting additional junior and senior faculty. We warmly welcome applications from English-speaking scholars.
