Full Text of JOE Listing:
The University of Tokyo Graduate School of Economics welcomes applications for three positions of full-time Assistant/Associate/Full Professor beginning in September 2026. We are particularly interested in candidates from the following three broad fields: (1) financial economics, money and banking; (2) international trade, spatial economics; and (3) public economics. The public economics position is a joint appointment with the Graduate School of Public Policy. Lectures are expected to be offered in English or Japanese.
Qualifications include a Ph.D. (received or expected by September 2026), strong evidence of commitment to research, and solid teaching skills. Publications in top general/field journals are essential to qualify for a tenured position.
We will begin reviewing applications in late November and continue until the positions are filled. Please apply as early as possible, and before January 31, 2026.
Initial interviews will be conducted online, starting from late December. Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, three letters of reference, teaching evaluations if available, and at least one research paper (the job market paper) through the AEA JOE system.
