Weill Cornell Medicine is recruiting a doctoral-level research associate to join Dr. Sean Murphy’s laboratory.

The lab works in a team environment providing economic evidence on interventions for people with substance use disorders, HIV, and related conditions. Dr. Murphy is a leading expert in designing and conducting economic evaluations across a multitude of settings, including criminal-legal, primary care, and substance use treatment. The applicant will join a dynamic multidisciplinary team, while connecting with prominent substance use researchers, globally.

This is a full-time, annual appointment with renewal possibility based on performance and funding. The candidate is a quantitative researcher with experience using advanced econometric and biostatistical approaches to analyze person-level data. Experience in behavioral health and with large health insurance claims-based analytic files are valuable.

Qualifications include:
PhD in health economics, health services research, health policy, or related field
Programming skill in 1+ statistical/computational language (Stata, SAS, R)
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong teamwork skills
Contributing to multiple projects with excellent time management

Key responsibilities:
Lead economic analyses with guidance from Dr. Murphy
Collaborate on manuscripts, presentations, and other products, as lead or contributing author.
Produce high-quality results and displays
Support data acquisition and management
Collaborate on grant proposals
