The Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in applied economics, beginning in Fall 2025. The postdoc will work with Shanjun Li and other researchers on global sustainability challenges including supply chain in clean energy industries, transportation electrification, and industrial policies and decarbonization pathways.

The position is initially for one year, offering a competitive annual salary and benefits package, with the possibility of extension based on satisfactory performance in the first year.

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in economics or a related field by the time of hire. Ideal candidates will have research experience in energy industries, strong skills in structural estimation or quantitative spatial modeling, and experience working with large datasets. The postdoc is expected to engage with researchers and participate in activities at the STEER Initiative at Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability, and Stanford Center on China’s Economy and Institutions at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies.
