The Department of Resource Economics invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position with an applied microeconomics and econometrics research focus, specifically in the area of environmental and natural resource economics (ENRE). Expected start date is September 1, 2026.
Under exceptional circumstances, highly qualified candidates at other ranks may receive consideration. Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate and graduate courses in microeconomics, econometrics, and ENRE. The new hire is expected to develop a nationally recognized research agenda and to become a core member of the ENRE faculty within the Department. A wide range of interdisciplinary research opportunities are available across the University of Massachusetts Amherst campus, including through the Computational Social Sciences Initiative, Energy Transition Initiative, and the Institute for Social Science Research.

Requirements
Applicants are required to have a Ph.D. in agricultural/resource/applied economics, economics, econometrics or a related field as of September 1, 2026.
