Full Text of JOE Listing:

The Department of Economics in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Calgary is accepting applications for two research fellows in regulatory economics and competition policy.

The research fellows will participate in the Department of Economics new Research Program in Regulation and Competition Policy ("RPCR"). The RPCR's goal is to provide critical assessment of the practice and policy of competition law and regulation in Canada through an economics lens. The research fellows will be expected to research and provide commentary on regulatory decisions, competition law cases and enforcement actions, regulatory and competition policy issues more generally, and relevant policy or legislative consultations. Besides producing research commentaries and briefs, the research fellows will contribute to, develop, and define relevant focus areas. The RPCR is new: we have a goal and welcome you to bring your energy, enthusiasm, and talents to enhance the contribution regulation and antitrust can make to the lives of Canadians. The research fellows will be supervised by the Co-Directors of the RPCR, Dr. Aidan Hollis and Dr. Jeffrey Church. It is expected that they will have the opportunity to contribute to research in industrial organization in collaboration with the Department's many other scholars working in this field.
