The Molasky Family Department of Economics and Real Estate in the Lee Business School at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for a tenure-track Lee Professorship of Economics with an emphasis in Real Estate and/or Urban Economics at the assistant or associate professor level. Preference will be given to candidates qualified for appointment at the advanced assistant professor or associate professor rank who have demonstrated the ability to publish high-quality research in real estate and/or urban economics. The department seeks a scholar whose research agenda will complement and extend existing departmental strengths and who demonstrates the ability to collaborate across the Lee Business School’s Centers of Excellence. In particular, the ideal candidate will be positioned to engage with and contribute to the Lied Center for Real Estate’s research and policy programs. Responsibilities of the position include conducting significant scholarly research leading to high-quality refereed publications in economics and real estate. Additional responsibilities include contributing to the Lee Business School’s research culture, and providing service to the department, school, university, and profession. The ideal candidate will also be expected to teach classes in service of the real estate degree offered by the department.

Salary and faculty support: The salary for this position is competitive with similarly situated institutions. The Lee Professorship provides additional support in the form of stipend and additional travel/research funds. Qualifications: This position requires a Ph.D. in Economics, Finance, or related disciplines from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Applicants for appointment at the Assistant Professor level should demonstrate strong promise of sustained, high-quality research in real estate, urban economics, and related fields, including the potential to publish in leading academic journals. Applicants should also demonstrate the ability to deliver high-quality instruction at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Applicants for appointment at the Associate Professor level must have an established record of sustained, high-quality research productivity in real estate, urban economics, and related fields, as well as the ability to deliver high-quality instruction at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
