The Department of Economics at Swarthmore College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in macroeconomics at the assistant or associate professor level, depending on qualifications and experience, to begin in Fall 2027.
We seek candidates committed to excellence in both undergraduate teaching and scholarly research and who contribute to diverse and inclusive communities. Successful candidates will be prepared to teach courses in their areas of expertise and throughout the macroeconomics sequence, including at the advanced undergraduate level. Applications in any area of macroeconomics are welcome.
The Economics Department is one of the strongest liberal arts departments in the country, with 14 tenured or tenure-track faculty, a diverse and engaged student population, and abundant opportunities for collaboration with colleagues and students. The standard teaching load is 2 courses per semester, with a paid sabbatical every fourth year and generous research support.
