Assistant Professor of Economics and Business—Applied Microeconomics

Hampden–Sydney College invites applications for a full–time tenure-track Assistant Professor of Economics and Business to begin in July of 2027. A Ph.D. in economics is required. Applicants may be ABD but should expect to complete the Ph.D. by the start date and must provide evidence of teaching experience.

Candidates should be prepared to teach courses in one or more of the following areas: intermediate microeconomics, mathematical economics, and an applied microeconomics field (preference will be shown to candidates that can teach or would like to teach environmental economics).

Hampden–Sydney College values the teacher/scholar model, with a 3-3 course load, plus one additional course every three years. Successful applicants will have a record of effective classroom teaching, a commitment to scholarly productivity, and a willingness to work with colleagues on professional service responsibilities.
