The Department of Health Management and Policy, College of Public Health, University of Iowa solicits applications for a new, tenure-track Assistant Professor position. Applicants for this faculty position must have a PhD or equivalent professional degree at the time of appointment with specific training and research interests related to older adults, and expertise in health services research methodology, either quantitative or qualitative. A demonstrated potential for publishing in leading journals, establishing an extramurally-funded research program, and having an impact on public health is required. There is a teaching requirement of two courses per year, with specific courses determined by the applicant's research interests and departmental needs. Candidates with research and policy interests related to the meaning of retirement are especially encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate for this position will also be expected to participate actively in an ambitious new multidisciplinary initiative in the area of the Aging Mind and Brain. New faculty with expertise in health services research will complement the University's considerable existing expertise in these areas to form the core of this innovative multidisciplinary initiative. Participation in the Aging Mind and Brain Initiative will be an important component in performance evaluations.
