The Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service and the Global Human Development Program at Georgetown University invite applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Environment and Development to begin Fall 2015. Relevant doctoral disciplines include economics, political science, public policy, and geography, though others may be considered. While we are especially interested in candidates with strong quantitative skills, candidates bringing other approaches to environmental analysis are also welcome. The normal teaching load is 2-2 at the graduate or undergraduate level.
Applicants should have substantial applied research accomplishments, an ambitious research agenda on environment, climate, or resource issues in international development, and exceptional promise as a scholar. The search committee will also consider applicants’ teaching record and potential for excellence in teaching. Preference will be given to applicants with the Ph.D. in hand, substantial progress towards publication of a first book and/or articles, and teaching experience.
