Faculty Position in Global Economics and Management Group
The Global Economics and Management (GEM) Group at the MIT Sloan School of Management invites applications for an experienced tenure-track faculty member at the mid-level or senior level effective July 1, 2015. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in a relevant social science discipline (e.g. Sociology, Economics, or Political Science) or an applied management field (e.g. International Management, Strategy, or Organizations) and have had at least 5 years teaching experience, ideally including MBA and/or EMBA levels.
Candidates must have strong research record and a demonstrated teaching and research interest in global management broadly defined, which includes global strategy, organization, management of entrepreneurial firms, or the management of innovation in a global context. A range of approaches, perspectives, methods, and disciplines are welcome. Candidates with an expertise on a specific country or region, as well as in international aspects of management, are also encouraged to apply.
Faculty duties will include teaching global management to MBA's and/or EMBA's/Sloan Fellows, and overseeing professional and research graduate students and conducting research. Candidates may also have the opportunity to teach doctoral students. Candidates should have the ability to help build and maintain programs in the MIT Sloan's areas of emphasis including action learning, research, policy or practice, or partnerships with management schools in other countries.
The Global Economics and Management Group includes faculty with interests in international economics, political economy, economic history, and international management and business. Our group is part of the Behavioral and Policy Sciences Area, one of three major areas at Sloan. We encourage multidisciplinary work with colleagues in other parts of the School.
