The African Studies program in Georgetown University's Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service invites applications tenure track appointment in the area of African development. The African Studies Program is an interdisciplinary academic program established in 1980.
The program seeks applicants whose research and teaching focus broadly on the political economy of development. Although the position is open with regard to discipline, special consideration will be given to applicants in the fields of economics, political economy and political science. The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong record of scholarship and teaching; a demonstrated commitment to field research in Africa is essential. PhD must be in hand before the position begins.
The deadline for applications is November 1, 2014. Interested applicants should submit the following: a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a sample of scholarly writing, brief statement of teaching and research interests, copies of teaching evaluations, if available, and three letters of recommendation.
