The Poverty Global Practice of the World Bank invites applications for a poverty economist consultant. Information about the practice is available at: http://www.worldbank.org/en/topic/poverty. The position starts in early November. The exact salary depends on the candidate’s qualifications and experience but is very competitive. The job will entails analyzing household survey data on topics related to the measurement and determinants of poverty, inequality, labor market outcomes, and applied public finance. The ideal candidate has strong microeconomic skills with a strong empirical background, with demonstrated skills in using Stata to analyze household survey data in the field of poverty, inequality, labor, or other related fields. Familiarity and experience working in developing countries, and fluency in foreign languages, are a plus. He or she is either a recent PhD or a graduating PhD student with advisor approval, preferably from a highly ranked economics department.
