ICRISAT (the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics) and the Department of Agricultural and Consumer Economics at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign are seeking applicants for a 15-month postdoctoral position in impact evaluation. The review process will begin shortly and will continue until the position is filled. The position is open pending the finalization of funding.
The post-doctoral fellow will (a) conduct research using ICRISAT panel data, including designing and implementing additional data collection (b) help conduct an international workshop on impact evaluation to be held December 2014, and (c) act as a resource for scientists associated with other CGIAR institutes and workshop participants. As part of this latter task, the post-doctoral fellow will work with workshop participants to help further design and implement their impact evaluation proposals developed at the workshop. The fellow will have access to primary farm-level data and opportunities for publications on manuscripts emerging from the data analyses.
The ideal candidate will have recently received or will shortly receive his or her PhD in Economics, Agricultural Economics or Applied Economics with a specialization in development economics, impact evaluation and/or technology adoption.
