Motu Economic and Public Policy Research is a non-profit institute engaged in non-partisan applied economic research. Our Senior Fellows are among the top economists in New Zealand, and are all internationally prominent (http://www.motu.org.nz/about/people). Existing research areas include environmental economics, growth and well-being, economic geography, labor and demography, and productivity and innovation. We seek a Senior Fellow to anchor a new program in agricultural economics, as well as contribute to research in our existing areas. The new program’s research focus will be led by the Senior Fellow, but could include issues such as agricultural productivity and innovation, the interactions between agriculture and environment, and land use change and regional development. The successful candidate will have at least five years post-PhD experience and a track record of successful research and interaction with policy makers and/or policy debates. New Zealand offers rich opportunities for influential research using detailed micro data. Motu offers a community of engaged, collaborative researchers and excellent research staff, located in the heart of Wellington, the New Zealand capital and a vibrant and beautiful place to live. Motu also has affiliates at several New Zealand universities, and opportunities for teaching are possible if desired.
