Full Text of JOE Listing:
The Oregon Public Utility Commission is responsible for regulating investor-owned utilities, privately-owned water companies, and the telephone industry. The PUC has an open position for a Utility Analyst 2 (Economic Analyst).
The primary purpose of this position is to conduct applied economic research on a variety of issues relating to economic regulation of Oregon’s investor-owned electric and natural gas utilities. Major duties include:
Evaluate and assess short-term and long-term load forecasts of electric and natural gas utilities.
Review natural gas and electric utility property sales and tariff filings.
Conduct economic research on utility and regulatory issues.
Develop recommended revisions as warranted. Draft memos summarizing review of rate filings and recommendations for presentation at public meetings.
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or Accounting AND two years of professional-level work experience in economic analysis, finance or accounting.

Five years of work experience in economic analysis, finance or accounting; two must have been at the professional level.
