The Department of Natural Resource Sciences of McGill University invites applications for a tenure track position in Agricultural Economics. This position is open to highly qualified agricultural and environmental economists. Some preference will be given to candidates with research experience in international development or farm/agri-business management, but all qualified candidates will be considered. The successful candidate will hold a PhD in Agricultural, Environmental or Natural Resource Economics, or a related discipline, and will contribute to teaching and research in the Agricultural Economics Program at McGill. Candidates should have a strong record of research, as demonstrated by peer-reviewed scholarly publications, and experience in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses. Interdisciplinary collaboration and post-doctoral research experience are considered to be assets.
The successful candidate is expected to develop a strong externally-funded research program involving the mentoring and supervision of graduate and undergraduate students, teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and be involved in service to the university and scholarly communities. Collaboration with other researchers at McGill, as well as other university research centres is encouraged.
McGill’s Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences is located on the Macdonald Campus, 30 km from the city of Montreal. The Campus comprises 650 hectares of farm and forested lands,and state-of-the-art student learning facilities.
