University of Chicago Professors Matthew Gentzkow and Jesse Shapiro are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to work as a full-time research assistant. The job will entail close collaboration on a number of projects in applied microeconomics. Previous holders of this position have gone on to Ph.D. programs at Harvard, MIT, Princeton, and the University of Chicago. The position is located at the National Bureau of Economic Research in Cambridge, MA. Applications will be screened on an ongoing basis. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2015, though this is negotiable.
The ideal candidate will have:
(i) BA degree
(ii) strong quantitative background
(iii) strong computing skills
(iv) ability to work independently to solve problems
(v) long-term interest in pursuing research in economics.
Background in economics is a plus, but not necessary – candidates with strong technical backgrounds who are looking for more exposure to economics welcomed.
