The Department of Economics invites applications for a tenure-track position as an Assistant or Associate Professor of Economics beginning in August 2015. A Ph.D. in Economics with a research interest in Urban Economics is required. Applicants may be ABD, but must have completed the Ph.D. by the August 2015 start date in order to be appointed at the Assistant Professor level. The individual should be able to teach elective(s) in urban economics, principles, and additional courses as necessary. The teaching load is 3-2 with class sizes averaging about 25. Applicants should have at least one year of successful teaching experience as an instructor. The University of Richmond expects excellence in teaching and meaningful research aimed at publication in top-tier scholarly journals.
The Economics Department is located within the Robins School of Business, a top-20 nationally-ranked undergraduate business program with a part-time MBA program that is also highly ranked. The University of Richmond is a private, highly-selective university, with a liberal arts orientation and a rising national and international profile.
