Claremont Graduate University's Department of Politics and Policy invites applications for an open-rank tenure-line position in Public Policy beginning Fall 2015. Ph.D. is required. Ability to teach core public policy classes such as policy implementation, policy evaluation, and cost-benefit analysis is required. Substantive area is open, but preference will be given to candidates whose research areas complement those of existing faculty and Claremont's location: in LA County but next to the Inland Empire. Prior teaching experience is strongly preferred. The successful candidate will provide evidence of an active research agenda, a cross-disciplinary perspective in teaching or research, readiness to mentor graduate students, and ability to work with a diverse group of students. The Successful candidate will also demonstrate experience and/or capacity for advising a diverse student body.

The Department of Politics and Policy offers only graduate-level degrees, with four MA programs, including an MA in Public Policy, and a Ph.D. in Political Science. We are located in the same Division as the Department of Economics, which emphasizes behavioral and neuro Economics. We are in the School of Social Science, Policy & Evaluation, which includes a program in Evaluation. CGU is associated with five undergraduate colleges and one graduate institute that comprise The Claremont Colleges. Teaching and joint research opportunities with those institutions may be possible.
