Social and Behavioral Sciences (SBS) Diversity Postdoctoral Fellowships in the College of Arts and Sciences at The Ohio State University support promising scholars whose research brings perspective to understanding the experiences of historically under-represented groups (race, ethnicity, gender, social class, sexual orientation, etc.), and prepare them to enter tenure track positions. Fellows develop independent research agendas and work with faculty mentors.
Appointments begin September 1, 2015. Second-year reappointment contingent upon successful performance review. Fellowships provide $45,000 annual stipend, medical benefits, and travel/research support.
Eligibility: PhD in social sciences completed by August, 2015. Preference given to individuals within five years of PhD. Applicants must be US citizens, committed to an academic career.

Requirements: (1) identification of SBS unit preference, suggestion of one or more tenured faculty to serve as host/mentor; (2) curriculum vitae; (3) one-page dissertation abstract; (4) outline of specific research proposal for the fellowship period, including its significance (four pages, double-spaced); (5) statement of applicant’s background and commitment to diversity in higher education (three pages, double-spaced).
