An opportunity exists for positions in the Department of Economics at the Lecturer / Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor levels. Outstanding candidates in all areas of economics will be considered, but the successful candidate for one position will be required to contribute to teaching in the area of international trade. For the other positions, we are particularly interested in candidates who can contribute to teaching macroeconomics or health economics. The level of appointment will depend on the qualifications of the successful applicant.

The University of Otago is one of New Zealand's leading research universities. We are a research intensive Department where teaching loads allow significant time for research. The Department has an expanding PhD program. A departmental travel fund finances attendance at international conferences and various internal (University) and external competitive grants are available to support research.
