Full Text of JOE Listing:
The School Effectiveness and Inequality Initiative (SEII) out of the MIT economics department is seeking a motivated and organized full time Research Assistant (RA) who will assist in a randomized evaluation of a science and engineering program for rising high school seniors from across the country. Candidates with an interest in STEM education and higher education are encouraged to apply. The principal investigators are Josh Angrist, Sarah Cohodes, and Silvia Robles.
Specific tasks shall include: constructing original research data sets; preparing data for analysis; conducting analysis in statistical packages; code management and project documentation; presenting results at team meetings; other tasks, as assigned.
A bachelor’s degree and strong quantitative and programming skills are required. Candidates with previous research experience are preferred. Most programming will be done in Stata.
The position is located at the NBER in Cambridge, MA. Start date is negotiable, though candidates who can begin by February 23, 2015 are strongly preferred.
