The Free Market Institute (FMI) at Texas Tech University seeks applicants for an Affiliated Faculty position starting with the 2015-2016 academic year. This position will entail a tenured/tenure-track faculty appointment, at the assistant, associate, or full professor rank, in an appropriate academic department contingent upon the applicant’s qualifications, with an expectation of teaching undergraduate and graduate students.
Successful applicants will have a capacity to advance the FMI’s research mission through an established record and/or a demonstration of strong potential to execute a promising agenda in research related to the theory, history and practice of free markets. Candidates with knowledge of Austrian economics, public choice theory, and new institutional economics are particularly encouraged.
Additionally, Affiliated Faculty will be expected to seek outside research funding, advise FMI Fellows pursuing advanced degrees, participate in FMI research workshops and reading groups,and provide other service, as appropriate, to the Institute’s programs and initiatives, the university, and the community.
