The Faculty of Business, Economics and Statistics of the University of Vienna announces the position of a

University Professor in Economics, in particular Economic Policy

(full time, permanent position under private law). The University of Vienna intends to increase the number of women on its faculty, particularly in high-level positions, and therefore specifically invites applications by women. Among equally qualified applicants women will receive preferential consideration.

The professorship is positioned in the Department of Economics and the research and teaching orientation of the successful candidate should be focused on policy; possible fields include e.g., health economics, social security, pensions, labour markets, economics of education, competition policy, fiscal policy, monetary policy, and trade policy. The successful candidate should help the department to increase its visibility in important national and international policy debates. Importantly, research and policy advice should be based on the application of rigorous quantitative methods. The professor is supposed to teach economics core courses and courses in economic policy at all levels.
