We are seeking a post-doctoral fellow with strong empirical methods skills, to work in collaboration with faculty and other researchers at Northwestern University School of Law on empirical projects. The position is for one year, but extendible for a second year if the fellow meets our expectations. S/he will consult on data collection and management, experimental design, data analysis, and will have the opportunity participate as a coauthor in joint research with law school faculty. Scholars from relevant disciplines including economics, political science, psychology, public policy, sociology, and statistics are invited to apply. The fellowship provides a competitive stipend and benefits.

Typical opportunities include:
• Participate with law school faculty in designing and conducting empirical research projects;
• Formulate research designs and suggest ways to improve designs, identify potential problems, and recommend and implement solutions;
• Improve and extend your own methods knowledge and writing skills;
• Work closely with law school faculty on research projects, with the goal of co-authored publications;
• Have some unallocated time, to pursue your own projects;
• Work with experienced investigators to prepare grant applications;
• Participate in and present work in research seminars at the law school;
• Have the opportunity to attend research seminars in other departments.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Completion of a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline by summer 2015;
• Ability to assist with complex tasks across multiple disciplines and with development and design of novel research projects;
• Strong empirical research skills;
• Proficiency with SAS or STATA;
• The ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues
