The PHSR Department at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy seeks applications for a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track faculty position in pharmacoeconomics at the rank of assistant or associate professor. At the time of appointment, the successful candidate must possess a doctoral degree in economics or related discipline. Applicants should have teaching and research interests consistent with the department’s mission to improve health among diverse populations through health services and other drug-related research, education, service and community outreach. Our 16-member faculty conducts research on comparative effectiveness and patient-centered outcomes research, pharmacoeconomics, pharmacoepidemiology, policy, law, and social/behavioral science. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong technical background in empirical methods relevant for conducting pharmacoeconomics research, a record of peer-reviewed publications, relevant teaching experience, and a history of research funding, commensurate with position rank.

The duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: a) mentor and teach pharmacoeconomics within the PHSR Department’s PhD graduate program and the School’s Doctor of Pharmacy program; b) develop interdisciplinary research collaborations with colleagues within the School of Pharmacy as well as with colleagues in the other professional schools across campus; and c) contribute to the growth and expansion of the PHSR Department and the School.

The successful candidate will report to the Chair of the Department of Pharmaceutical Health Services Research. This faculty appointment is open immediately with a negotiable start date.
