The University of California, Department of Economics invites applications for an Assistant Professor position in the area of Applied Microeconomic Theory, with a priority on application to labor economics, development economics, public economics, or industrial organization.
Responsibilities include developing a strong research program, teaching undergraduate and graduate students, and training graduate students in applied microeconomic model building with empirical application. The applicant's own research should creatively combine model building and applied econometrics. Applicants must be ABD or have met the requirements for the Ph.D. in Economics or related fields by the start of appointment; July 1, 2016. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with education and experience. Advancement through the faculty ranks at the University of California is through a series of structured, merit-based evaluations, occurring every 2-3 years, each of which includes substantial peer input.
