The Institute for Tourism & Recreation Research conducts travel and recreation research in Montana, focusing on spending and economic impacts of nonresident travel, the economic contribution of nonresident travel to Montana’s economy, visitor characteristics, and outdoor recreation.
This new position as an Economist and Associate Director of ITRR will be charged with developing a statewide recognized research program in the area of tourism, recreation and natural resource economics. Projects will range from building a travel forecast model to assessing where tourism and recreation fit within the MT economy, to working with niche outdoor recreation markets assessing economic impact analyses. Applicants need to have a Ph.D. or ABD in economics.
