Full Text of JOE Listing:
The Chief Economist Complex of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) is seeking to recruit several research economists in the Economic Research and Policy Department. Research economists, both senior and junior, conduct policy-oriented research in accordance with the development agenda of the IsDB and its member countries. The candidates are expected to have an outstanding scholarly publication record (senior position) and be able to provide relevant policy advice and technical expertise to staff of the Islamic Development Bank Group and policy makers in member countries.
We are looking for candidates with interests in all areas of economics relevant to development, including macroeconomics, monetary economics, international economics, education economics, agricultural economics, health economics, labor and demographic economics, economic development, environmental economics, Public Economics and transport economics.
The candidates should possess:
- strong technical skills;
- a track record of quality original research publication in peer-reviewed journals (senior positions);
- the ability to communicate technical knowledge and expertise in a policy arena;
- excellent proficiency in oral and written English.
Both new PhDs and senior candidates will be considered. Candidates with MA degrees having strong qualifications can also be considered. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed during the ASSA Meetings in January 2016.
