Responsibilities:
The Consulting Associate (CA) or Senior Associate (SA) is expected to perform economic and econometric analyses of issues related to consumer financial regulatory and litigation matters, including the following:
•Contribute to the design and conduct of project work, including working with clients to procure data and define analysis scope; and developing appropriate approaches to address needs.
•Develop statistical analysis programs and perform econometric analysis to analyze compliance with consumer financial laws and regulations, and to support testifying experts in litigation.
•Draft reports or presentations, or sections of reports or presentations, including descriptions of analysis methodologies and results.
•Serve as a project manager: plan and manage the execution of significant sub-tasks on projects, conceptualize and analyze issues relevant for the project, and direct the work of junior staff.
•Provide training and technical supervision to junior staff in STATA programming, GIS mapping, data management and statistical analysis methods.
•Oversee econometric analysis of consumer finance topics, including reviewing analyses for quality control purposes.
•Interface, as needed, with client representatives to communicate developments and present results.
•Prepare technical documentation of econometric analyses.
•Contribute to business development efforts and draft client proposals for providing consulting services.
Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements:
Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Real Estate/Urban Economics, Finance or a closely related field with at least one to three years of relevant work experience, depending on CA or SA level.
•1-3 years of experience performing applied econometric and data analysis work on financial economics topics in a research, banking or consulting environment. Experience with SAS programming a plus.
•1-3 years of experience of advanced programming skills in STATA statistical software performing data analysis or econometric analysis of financial matter.
•1-3 years of experience applying advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
•1-3 years of experience working with large data sets, such as Census Bureau data, mortgage performance data, loan servicing data, and/or financial transaction data.
•1-3 years of experience analyzing financial and/or real estate industry topics.
