The University of New Hampshire invites nominations and letters of application for the appointment of the Forrest D. McKerley Professorship in Health Economics. The Chair is a joint appointment between the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) and the Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics (Paul). The responsibilities of the position include teaching graduate and/or undergraduate courses, conducting applied research in health policy analysis, and providing leadership in the development and implementation of health services research at the University of New Hampshire in the Health Management and Policy Department in CHHS and the Economics Department in Paul. The University actively creates and nurtures a dynamic learning environment in which qualified individuals of differing perspectives, life experiences and cultural backgrounds pursue goals with mutual respect and a shared spirit of inquiry.
The candidate is expected to have an earned doctorate in an appropriate discipline, e.g. economics or health economics. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: comparative effectiveness, pharmaceuticals, medical technology, hospitals, physicians, health care finance, and competition in health care supply, but welcome all applications. Candidates must have a strong record (appropriate to their rank) in teaching, scholarship and health policy grants. The successful candidate will demonstrate ability to lead in an increasingly diverse cultural, social, and ethnic community. Applicants should carry a rank of Associate or Full Professor.
