The Department of Health Management and Informatics at the College of Health and Public Affairs, invites applications for a tenure-earning or tenured position at the rank of assistant, associate or full professor, to begin August 2016.
Duties:
The successful candidate will be expected to teach both undergraduate and/or graduate students, conduct quality research in at least one of the preferred content areas, and obtain externally funded research. Specifically, the candidate will be expected to develop community-based research and service initiatives.
The candidate will join the Department of Health Management & Informatics, which includes the nation's largest graduate and undergraduate programs in health services administration (HSA), an executive healthcare management program (e-MSHSA), a fully online graduate program in healthcare informatics (HCI), and an undergraduate program in health informatics and information management (HIIM). The master's in HSA and baccalaureate in HIIM are accredited by CAHME and CAHIIM, respectively. The undergraduate HSA program is certified by AUPHA, and there is a Health Management and Research track included in the Public Affairs Ph.D. program offered by the College of Health and Public Affairs. The University of Central Florida (UCF) is located in Orlando, Florida, with a 1,415-acre main campus providing modern facilities and 600 acres set aside for lakes, woods and an arboretum. Qualifications:
A doctoral degree in Healthcare Administration or a related field or discipline, from an accredited institution. ABD applicants may be considered if degree is in hand by July 1, 2016. In order to be eligible for an appointment as a tenured associate or full professor, upon hire the successful candidate will have a distinguished record of scholarly achievement and teaching experience commensurate with a tenured faculty appointment at the rank of associate or full professor. Rank is open and all candidates are encouraged to apply.
Preferences:
Competencies in Healthcare Economics, Healthcare Marketing, Public Health, Healthcare Strategy, Health Policy, and/or Health Administration. For a tenured position, post-doctoral academic experience in research and teaching and a strong record of scholarly publications in the desired content area described above. Research experience will be appropriate to position level, demonstrated by publications in peer-reviewed journals and level of external funding. For a tenure-earning position, presentations at professional associations is important. Service experience can be demonstrated as time-in-position as a program director.
