Economic Research Southern Africa (ERSA) is an independent, non-partisan institute, devoted to the deepening and broadening of economic research in Southern Africa. Towards this end ERSA seeks to appoint a Managing Director responsible for the management and direction of a policy related economic research programme.

The position will carry responsibility for identifying, developing and coordinating the direction of policy research in consultation with the South African National Treasury and the South African Reserve Bank, and the dissemination of the resulting research to interested parties.

As a result the position requires relevant senior experience of both the South African policy context and rigorous standards of economic research.

A relevant post graduate degree in economics as well as substantial policy related work experience is a pre-requisite for the position.

The position is a 5 year contract appointment and remuneration will be highly competitive.
