The Institute for Research on Labor and Employment, at the University of California, Berkeley is recruiting for an Academic Coordinator II (Associate Director), in the area of Labor and Employment, with an expected start date in January 2016. The Associate Director (AD) works with the Director in developing short and long-range plans, and has primary responsibility for developing and implementing programs to carry out these plans, including conferences, funded and unfunded research initiatives, the internal grant-making program, communications initiatives (including web and social media), and coordination with IRLE’s various constituent research centers. The AD works with the Director to develop IRLE’s research agenda and to engage faculty affiliates and IRLE staff in pursuit of this agenda. The AD works with faculty and researchers to launch new programs and centers including facilitating communication among potential collaborators, identifying program resources and constraints, making recommendations and implementing program activities.
