Seeking outstanding applicants for the position of Assistant, Associate or Full Project Scientist for the Berkeley Initiative for Transparency in the Social Sciences (BITSS). The position entails work on BITSS activities and research under the supervision of Principal Investigator (PI) Edward Miguel. The incumbent will collaborate with Prof. Miguel and co-investigators across the social sciences to conceptualize and implement a new longitudinal study on researcher norms and practices, particularly as they relate to openness, integrity, and transparency. Other key responsibilities include: managing data-centric components (including analysis, review and technical assistance) of BITSS research, including developing work plans and timelines to ensure that deliverables are completed on schedule; authoring research papers using BITSS data and disseminating findings to academics, donors and policymakers through meetings and presentations; contributing to updates and revisions of a data transparency manual outlining best practices in research design and data sharing, reproducibility, and validation; supporting the development and delivery of undergraduate and graduate- level curricula on transparency practices for empirical social science research; contributing to progress reports for current funding sources.
