The Institute of Social and Economic Research (ISER) of Osaka University has job openings for one non-tenure-track positions in economics beginning in or after October 1st, 2016 at the earliest possible time. The appointment is for the fixed term of four years with no renewal. A successful candidate may be in any field of economics, but should demonstrate a strong potential for research in his/her field.

Conducting research on the own initiative and teaching

Rank: Associate or Assistant Professor (without tenure)

Requirement:
1. Ph.D. or an equivalent degree in economics or related fields.
2. Teaching ability in English or Japanese.
Employment conditions:
Full-time, on the 4-year fixed-term contract, not renewable.
Salary will be determined according to the personnel regulations of Osaka University.
Research allowances and paid vacations will be provided.

1. Cover letter.
2. Curriculum vita.
3. List of research papers.
4. Reprint or photocopy of up to two research papers.
5. For each paper in item 4 above having the forthcoming or revise-and-resubmit status, a copy of a correspondence with a journal (such as a letter from an editor) as a proof.
6. A copy of the certificate of a Ph.D. or an equivalent degree.
7. At least two letters of reference which should be sent directly to us either by post or by e-mail. (The names and contact information of those who are providing references should be included in the cv.)
Selection process: Review of application material is followed by a visit to ISER for an interview and a seminar.
